The MA-510TR AIS transponder from ICOM reliably transmits and receives AIS class B data and impresses with its own 4.3" colour display, which is easy to read even in direct sunlight. The GPS antenna included in the delivery contents ensures that your own position data is precisely determined.

NMEA2000, NMEA0183 and USB connectivity
Thanks to the NMEA2000, NMEA0183 and USB interface, AIS data can be sent to external chart plotters, radios, etc.

Silent mode
Silent mode allows you to temporarily stop transmitting your vessel’s position information. This is useful if you do not want to reveal your position to other vessels. AIS reports from other ships can still be received when silent mode is on.

Colour structuring
Potentially dangerous vessels are shown in red and ships registered as your friends are shown in yellow.

Innovative navigation function
The MA-510TR transponder can assign up to 100 favourite destinations and waypoints. This allows you to quickly and easily mark a waypoint in an emergency where, for example, an MOB incident has occurred.

Individual DSC call
You can transmit an individual DSC Call by selecting an AIS target and the voice channel on the MA-510TR. This function requires a compatible VHF marine radio (optionally available).

Defective antenna

Transponder installed in my dive boat in 2022, the GPS antenna worked for a month then stopped working. Antenna replaced, which stopped working after a few months...
A third antenna was delivered as a replacement (product still under warranty), this time it was no longer the original Icom antenna. It worked well for a year, and for the past two weeks it's been showing serious signs of weakness. It takes between 30 minutes and 1 hour before the GPS signal is found, the signal is lost very often...
The problem is that connecting a GPS antenna from another brand is not possible. The connector is specific to Icom devices, so it's not possible to choose a different antenna unless you redo the connection yourself.

The GPS antenna only lasts two years

The whole thing seems of good quality at first glance, but it worked well for two years then it started to lose the GPS from time to time, today it no longer works at all! after diagnosis It turns out that the GPS antenna is dead I am very disappointed given the price of the product I would like to know if the warranty can still apply?

In terms of use, it is simple and effective when it works. It is a good navigation aid. The alarm can be adjusted as desired. The alarm ringing is loud enough to be heard outside despite the wind. There are no complaints about its use when it is working.
