The NMEA0183 multiplexer with USB MiniPlex-3USB is the optimal device for your navigation network in conjunction with an on-board PC or laptop. Simply connect devices from different networks to the multiplexer, which will then process the data and send it back as collected to various outputs.
You can choose to connect devices together with the following bus systems and protocols:
- NMEA 0183 (up to 4 transmitting devices and 8 receivers)
- Raymarine SeaTalk(1)® (An NMEA 0183 input can be switched to Raymarine SeaTalk to convert data)
So that you can then, for example, send a track data from a navigation software to an autopilot.
The MiniPlex-3USB multiplexer also has other advantages:
- Each individual NMEA 0183 input and output can reach a speed of 4800-57600 baud (NMEA 2 output can reach up to 115200 baud)
- All inputs, outputs, and the USB port are galvanically isolated from the internal electronics. This prevents ground loops and supports different serial ports (RS-232 and RS-422)
- Filter: Unnecessary NMEA data strings can be completely filtered out, in order to improve data throughput
- Routing: The unit can be configured as what types are to be replaced by NMEA sentences between the different inputs and outputs
- Conversion: Certain NMEA-record types can be automatically converted to other types (for example, relative wind to true wind)
