Finally something that works on board without any ifs or buts. Hose is slim enough for SOLE diesel. Suction speed not very fast, but very thorough with one pumping. Used oil - removal from the hose is not that easy, but it is feasible. The storage container shows the filling level very nicely by means of liter lines.

Product details

The PELA oil extractor pump is a manually operated vacuum pump for quick and simple removal of fluids, making engine oil changes, gear oil changes etc extremely easy and unproblematic. The pump is ideal for oil changes on boats, cars (although not recommended with angled dipsticks), lawn mowers, power equipment etc.

The suction hose is inserted into the engine through the dipstick opening. Simply move the pump lever up and down a few times to create a vacuum. The liquid (oil, bilge water, etc.) is then sucked in and collects inside the pump housing.

Ideal for use at home, in the garden and on board. The pump can be disassembled and easily stored. 6 litre capacity. Height: approx. 550 mm, housing diameter: approx. 230 mm Without automatic shut-off function.

Supplied with 1 nylon tube with an inner diameter of approx. 3 mm and a length of 2.10 m.

Note: This suction pump is not designed for the suction of fuels.

No luck for me.

Before ordering this pump, I read all the reviews and comments, which were all very favorable. This afternoon, I wanted to drain my boat's inboard engine.
Unfortunately, I had a hell of a time getting 4 liters out, even though the crankcase holds 6. I had warmed up the engine thoroughly beforehand. Despite placing the pump at the same height as the crankcase, and despite the high vacuum achieved by pumping, the oil was too difficult to drain. I had to deprime the pump regularly to hear a suction noise. In short, I couldn't suck it all out. I was only able to add 4.5 liters of new oil, and the level was still too high. I had to pump it a little more to get it to the right level. So, very disappointed with this "marvel." Do you have a solution?
I just bought a 1973 powerboat. The previous owner hadn't had the oil changed for about six years.

Not practical

I thought this pump would simplify oil changes on my boat, but no.
- You cannot see what is flowing in the container;
- Unlike a classic pump, with the vacuum pump there is no feedback;
- In any case, you need a container to deposit the used oil in the recycling centre.

The only positive is that the container has a wide base that won't tip over.
On the other hand, the shape of the tank is not practical at all, it is very bulky.

Anyway, I went back to the good old brass pump.

Well, I would have expected more for 40 € :(. 100% full plastic and sometimes also relatively thin or bad fit. Pump piston is very poorly fitting, for example, which is why many pumping processes go empty because the vacuum cannot be generated. Pro: - Very clean Oil change - Sucks to the last rest Contra: - Very expensive (especially if you see what you get) - Pumping only works when the oil is very hot = thin fluid - Pumping process takes a very long 3.5L approx. 30-40 min. - Full plastic and partly not very robustly built All in all, I am rather disappointed and therefore definitely do not recommend the PL6000 any more, rather an electric pump for the same money.
