Product details

Quickly rescue a person overboard with this inflatable marker buoy from PLASTIMO. Made of yellow, polyurethane-coated nylon and equipped with reflective strips and a yellow and red signal flag, the buoy is highly visible in an emergency. An integrated light at the tip of the buoy provides additional visibility at night. The light triggers automatically when the buoy comes into contact with water and has subsequent operation for 8 hours. The buoy also has a whistle to attract attention, should the visual signals not suffice. The person in the water can actively use the buoy to keep afloat. This is made easier thanks to the belt straps, with which the MOB can either hold onto or use to rest on. A drogue anchor helps prevent drifting. The marker buoy is supplied in a white canister with holder. In an emergency, the canister can be quickly and easily removed from the holder and thrown in the direction of the person who has fallen overboard. Deployment occurs when the lanyard is fully tensioned. When inflated, the buoy is approx. 1.98 m high from the waterline.

Materials and mounting not adequate

You need a mounting kit that is not providedindicated in the item. The material holding the buoy is made of simpleweak plastic. I wouldn't buy it againg

Bracket is cheap construction, otherwise actually okay

I exchanged the marker buoy again, solely because of the impressively cheaply designed and manufactured mount. The mount must have been developed with the goal of being as cheap as possible. It's made of a deep-drawn yogurt cup material, which might hold up, but it looks simply unfortunate on the railing and isn't intended for open mounting – that's how it seems.

Otherwise, the product seems good, including the case for the actual buoy and the buoy itself – it all makes a good impression, which makes the mount all the more unfortunate! Now I have the equivalent from JONBUOY, the "2-in-1 Marker Buoy GLO LITE," and it completely meets my expectations ;-)
