Responsive and versatile! The Garmin Reactor 40 autopilot is ideal for boats that already have a drive unit. Very versatile, the autopilot can be used with various drive systems, such as mechanical, hydraulic, cable and solenoid steering systems. This autopilot can be mounted quickly and easily on both motor and sailing boats. Simply connect a rudder angle sensor (GRF 10, optionally available) to the drive system.
Fast, flexible and reliable
The solid-state 9-axis AHRS (Attitude Heading Reference System) responds reliably to sea conditions to maintain course. In addition, the autopilot system offers particularly helpful features, including heading hold, wind hold, tack/jibe, step turns and more. It also greatly minimises heading error, course deviation, rudder movement and power consumption, giving you enough time to operate sails, lines, winches or radios. The system mounts nearly anywhere, in any orientation.
Chartplotter compatibility
Combined with a compatible chartplotter, the Reactor 40 can be controlled and steered anywhere on the boat. In addition to holding its course in virtually all weather and wind conditions, the system can smoothly perform a variety of preprogrammed trolling and search procedures. Plus, with a compatible Garmin networked chartplotter and optional BlueChart g3 Vision charts (sold separately), you gain additional functions, such as Auto Guidance with automatic route suggestions.
Stay in control with Shadow Drive technology
For hydraulic systems, the system can be expanded with innovative Shadow Drive technology (sold separately). Shadow Drive gives you the option to take the wheel at any time with Autopilot activated. The autopilot is automatically disengaged if the helm is turned and re-engages when you hold a steady course.

Dear Sirs, I have old Robertson AP2500 Autopilot with mechanic drive. Drive is good, but Autopilot is not. What I understand, your bundle (#93866# Reactor 40 Universal Autopilot / with GHC20) is what I need to replace old one and connect to my drive unit. My question: Is in bundle everything what I need? Good day, I have full hydraulic steering on my boat with pump and 2 cylinders. It is a 50ft steel schooner weighing 24tons. I have Garmin 1042xvs chartplotter, garmin doppler radar, steady cast heading sensor. What do I need to convert to Garmin autopilot? Regards Cas
Hi, it sounds like this is no Garmin pump and you want to keep it. If yes, the Universal Corepack is the right choice usually. Please note that this Autopilot needs a rudderfeedback sensor. For example GRF 10 from Garmin.
