Product details

Plain bearing block with swivel. The bearing parts are made of stainless steel. Cheeks are stiff and fibre-reinforced preventing lines from wedging. The composite is also fibre reinforced.

Care advice

Cleaning and maintenance of blocks:

Rinse blocks regularly and thoroughly with warm fresh water to remove salt and dirt (if necessary, carefully use a soft brush).
For heavier soiling: soak the block in warm fresh water with a little detergent and move the sheaves (do not use aggressive cleaners).
Avoid pressure washers, as water and dirt may be forced into the bearings.
Then allow to dry thoroughly to prevent corrosion.
Lubricate only when necessary and according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Note: Many modern bearings are maintenance-free or self-lubricating – incorrect lubrication may impair function.
Disassemble only if explicitly intended by the manufacturer, as not all blocks are designed for maintenance or disassembly.

Convincing function with unbeatable price-performance ratio of this SELDEN block

This block replaces a worn, smaller block that was previously installed. I chose this one because of the price-performance ratio for the specified load. It's worked great so far. Used at the base of the mast as a deflection for the main halyard on the furling mainsail.
