A very forgiving and beginner-friendly cruising boat The Delantas are excellent for single-handed sailing and are particularly easy to handle for beginners. With a well-trimmed sail, their performance is outstanding. They can even be sailed in light winds (from 10 km/h). The boat is virtually uncapsizeable thanks to its lead keel, which rights itself even from extreme heeling (50 degrees). The interior space, at 7.50 meters long and 2.48 meters wide, is ample and sufficient for two people to comfortably sail for several weeks at a time. There are plenty of lockers for provisions, clothing, and tools. The inboard engine (7.5 hp Volvo Pentax MD5A) provides enough power to navigate through waves, even in rougher conditions. However, it's advisable to remain in port when the sea state exceeds 1 meter. The cockpit is surprisingly spacious, offering plenty of room for the skipper and crew. It's also suitable for people over 1.90 meters tall. The same applies to the berths. There's also a berth in the bow, suitable for people up to 1.75 meters tall. A galley, chart table, and folding saloon table leave nothing to be desired for self-sufficient cruising.
