Product details

Note:

This product is delivered in original equipment manufacturer (OEM) quality. It is not the original product from the manufacturer.
The life of a seawater pump is limited, even if maintenance activities such as replacement of sealing and impeller are performed regularly. The reason for this is corrosion, which is caused by the constant condensation of the pump even if the engine is at a standstill, as well as material removal due to erosions as a result of the high flow speed of the seawater inside the pump housing.
Often small but steadily increasing leakages, usually at the bottom of the housing, are signs of a pump's demise. At that point, you should think about a replacement.
In order to assist skilled skippers in carrying out their own repairs without causing a total loss, we are now offering seawater pumps / impeller pumps for the most common types of engines on the market.

Suitable for:
Volvo Penta 2001, 2002, 2003

Our seawater pumps are "OEM quality" approved and meet the requirements of engine manufacturers.

The enclosed spring washer for securing the gear on the shaft was a bit too thick for the groove on the shaft.

Works, but limited lifespan
On a longer trip, after a good year and about 1000 engine hours, I had to replace the second pump because the sealing rings were leaking.

Replacement for the original pump Volvo Penta 2003
The pump makes a solid impression and fits perfectly. It was and is currently a Johnson pump pictured but an Italian replacement is coming. When I asked, I got the answer that I couldn't get a Johnson pump for this price! Before ordering, I asked by phone whether the seals for the plug-in connections and the O-ring for the engine block were included. The answer to my question was yes. There are no seals with the pump. The installation is unproblematic, but I'm still waiting for the separately ordered seals, because the old seals no longer do what they should. Durability must be shown.

Durability moderate, maintainability catastrophic
Installed as a short-term replacement for a leaky original pump, saving my vacation. So far, great.

After two years, this pump started leaking (okay, it's okay, the shaft seal on the seawater side). However, the shaft seal on this model cannot be easily replaced without first removing the shaft (there is no spacer). Changing the bearing or the oil seal on the oil side is almost impossible.

Conclusion: Never again, Italian junk.

Our answer
Ein Austausch der Wellendichtung / Simmerring ohne eine komplette Demontage der Welle ist auch bei einer Jabsco und/oder Johnson Pumpe nicht möglich.
