I was all the more surprised to find that the transceiver's packaging was completely torn open along one edge and showed clear signs of wear, while the outer packaging from the parcel service was undamaged. How does that add up?

There was no explanation for this either.

I wouldn't have complained about this with a refurbished item, but with an item that was supposedly brand new, directly from the manufacturer, and immediately shipped? I can't imagine that Weatherdock would ship new, next-generation devices in used boxes.

I can't see any clear signs of wear on the transceiver itself.
