For me as a jetty/cruising sailor with a maximum speed of 7 knots, the product is a real flop. The growth of pox and lichen was so extreme after half the season that I was not able to sail 5-6% faster but 25% slower. In contrast to the Yacht Aug'09 article (a boat from Travemünde with complete growth), I was unable to remove all of the pox without leaving residue. If you then inevitably go to the "feet" with a spatula or something similar, the skin will be damaged. I also have doubts that the surface properties of the VOSS coating work like a shark and reduce the turbulence on the skin. Perhaps the manufacturer is thinking about it themselves. The advertising pages on the Internet at www.haifischhaut.de have been offline since mid-August.
