The MTCC is a certified training centre for water sports enthusiasts and professional sailors based in Celle, Lower Saxony. Since its foundation, Veit S. Hilger, Sven Otte and Karin Hilger have focused on practical training and specialised safety courses. These are aimed at both recreational sailors with ambitions to become skippers and professional skippers who want to deepen their knowledge of emergency medicine, for example.
The training programme includes all licences issued by the German Sailing Association (DSV), including
SBF See: the Sportbootführerschein See allows you to sail motorboats of any horsepower on the maritime waterways. There is no length limit.
SKS: The sport coaster licence is required for sailing and motor yachts in all coastal waters. Prerequisite: SBF See.
SSS: The recreational sailing licence entitles the holder to sail sailing yachts and motorboats in coastal sea areas - up to 30 nautical miles from the coast, including the North Sea and Baltic Sea. Prerequisite: SBF See.
SHS: The sport offshore sailing licence is essential for sailing worldwide. The prerequisite is possession of an SSS.
As an officially recognised RYA Training Centre, the MTCC also offers training for the internationally renowned British boating licences from Day Skipper to Yachtmaster Ocean:
Day Skipper: Allows you to skipper sailing or motor yachts up to approx. 24 metres in coastal waters during daylight hours. Ideal for ambitious beginners with previous experience.
Yachtmaster Offshore: Allows you to skipper a yacht up to 24 metres at distances of up to 150 nautical miles from the nearest harbour. The international equivalent of the German SSS with a strong practical focus.
Yachtmaster Ocean: The highest level in the RYA system - with no mileage limit for worldwide sailing.
These certificates are recognised worldwide and form the basis for the so-called Commercial Endorsement, which allows the commercial use of RYA certificates - for example as a professional skipper. The MTCC's training team consists of experienced commercial shipmasters, certified RYA instructors and DSV diploma sailing instructors for a well-founded training programme at the highest level.
With many years of experience in water sports, the MTCC offers a varied training programme with seminars, on-board training and practice-oriented courses. The programme is aimed at water sports enthusiasts who want to expand their skills in a targeted manner and practise sailing with competence and responsibility.
SVB co-operates with the MTCC to jointly offer well-founded training and further education for water sports enthusiasts at the highest level. The courses take place at various locations - including in Bremen at SVB, as well as in Munich, Constance, Cologne, Hamburg, Kiel and in Vlissingen in the Netherlands for particularly practice-intensive training.
The focus is on safety at sea. After all, those who act prudently and competently in critical situations are truly prepared. The MTCC is the perfect partner for anyone who not only wants to obtain a driving licence, but also wants to navigate the water safely and responsibly. The courses on offer include safety training and specialised courses: Radio courses such as the SRC (Short Range Certificate), training in electronic navigation, radar operation and weather observation for safe route planning or courses in basic medical skills for emergencies on board.
A particular advantage of the MTCC is the personalised support offered to participants. The course content is customised to suit the level of experience and personal goals. Small groups ensure an intensive learning atmosphere and maximum learning success.
