MTCC RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Shorebase / Theory

With the Yachtmaster Offshore Shorebase theory course, you will acquire the basic knowledge to sail as a skipper on a yacht close to the coast (150 nm from the coast) in day and night passages in eight days and 48 hours of instruction. You take the exam on day 8 directly after the course.

The course covers the following content:

• Offshore and coastal navigation
• Ship handling
• Navigating offshore and coastal passages
• Weather and tidal science
• Current navigation
• radar
• Electronic navigation
• Action in emergencies
• manoeuvring
• anchoring
• heavy weather
• Magnetic compass
• Light guidance
• Pilotage
• COLREG
• Safety at sea
• Passage planning

One of the following prerequisites must be fulfilled:

• At least dayskipper
• At least SBF See
• Yachtmaster Coastal
• SKS

Examination:
You complete the course with the "Shorebase Certificate". The price only includes the Shorebase course and the theoretical exam as well as all teaching materials such as nautical charts, navigation CD, tide table, textbook, manual, etc.
