Excellent thermal imaging camera Bought a radar last year (Raymarine Doppler). But quickly realized that a radar on a lake is not really the best. Back then I already had the Flir M232 in focus. Now finally ordered and tested. Conclusion; You can really see everything, day or night. Excellent device. I think the security cannot be surpassed if you buy such a device. No more blind trips. The cost is very high, but you feel very safe at all times.

The M232 pan and tilt IP thermal imaging camera from Flir is the smallest marine thermal camera in the series and features thermal imaging technology to enhance boaters’ overall situational awareness. With excellent resolution, it detects obstacles and targets even in complete darkness, ensuring safe navigation even in the most difficult conditions.

Safe navigation and ClearCruise compatible
Thermal imaging improves safety by revealing vessels and obstacles even in complete darkness, helping boaters navigate waters more safely than using radar or spotlight alone.
Combined with a multifunction display (available separately), you can also benefit from the advantages of ClearCruise thermal image analysis technology. ClearCruise provides audible and visual alerts when objects such as boats, obstacles or navigation markers are detected in the camera's field of view.

Optimised view and zoom function
An outstanding resolution of 320 x 240 pixels gives you the best possible view of the entire horizon. The camera also features a 4X continuous zoom.

I would like to know, if you advice to mount this M232IP on to the mast by using suitable Scanstrut or Seaview mast mount brackets. In the mounting manual, it is written that, the product and as far as I understand,it's network cables should be away from electrical power and radio signals. Considering for navigation lamps and VHF, this is quite difficult to do. Best regards

Hello Yahya, the coaxial cable only carries a signal when radio transmission is in use. So that shouldn't be a problem in general. However, it would also be possible to move the camera closer to the VHF cable before final installation and test whether interference occurs (when radio transmission is in use). The 12V cables for position lights etc. are irrelevant. Best regards from Bremen

Hello Boia, you can connect the camera directly to the Multifunktion-Display. In the delivery of the camera are 10 metre power and 10 metre Ethernet cable. If the legths are enough you don´t have to buy anything more.
