High-performance sheet for cruising. Double braid for extremely even load of core and cover. The special finish on the polyester material gives GEMINI X extra strength and durability.

Features:

  • GEMINI X double braid. Core and cover are evenly loaded.
  • Unique flexibility with best handling and long-life.
  • Multipurpose line for sheet, vang, trim control line etc.
  • Particularly suitable as mainsail and genoa sheet on self-tailing winches.
  • Can be used as high performance mooring line on large boats as well.
  • The GEMINI X SPORT tends to slip out of the halyard stopper.
  • Runs very smoothly on sheaves, even with smaller sheave diameters


Cleaning ropes:
Please note the following when cleaning/washing polyester and Dyneema ropes:

  • Hand wash (SVB recommendation):
    • Place the rope in a large bucket or bathtub and fill with warm water.
    • Clean the rope thoroughly with your hands.
    • Do not use regular washing powder (you can find a possible alternative here).
    • Do not use fabric softener.
    • Then wash the rope with clean water.
  • Washing machine:
    • Only wash rope in a cotton bag.
    • Wash at a maximum of 30 degrees.
    • Do not use regular washing powder (you can find a possible alternative here).
    • Do not use fabric softener.
  • Do not tumble dry the rope.
    • After washing, allow the ropes to drip dry (protected from UV radiation).

Hi, I find this rope a little "stiff"! Is there any way people have used to soften it? Maybe washing machine with fabric conditioner? Many thanks

Hi Jamie! These ropes are equipped with a special finish to minimise water absorption (similar to the finish on outdoor clothing). If these ropes are treated in the washing machine with washing powder and/or fabric softener, the lubricant washes out and the rope takes on a different feel. We recommend rinsing in clear water (not in the washing machine), especially after use in salt water.

Bought these one. Although not using furling genoa, ropes gave a great touch & grip when dry or wet. Value for money is excellent, although next I ll move to dyneema ones
