If you're planning an overhaul of your batteries and charging technology or want an exceptionally hard-wearing "lithum power pack" that offers maximum operational reliability in a compact and lightweight package, then you've come to the right place!
12 and 24 volt MASTERVOLT MLI Ultra lithium batteries have a capacity of 1250 Wh. This corresponds to 100 Ah for the 12 volt MLI Ultra 12/1250 or 50 Ah for the 24 volt MLI Ultra 24/1250. Of this, 80 % can be used (factory setting). MASTERVOLT MLI Ultra lithium batteries have a high current capacity, so they are ideal for use as starter, bow thruster or consumer batteries. The MLI Ultra 12/1250 can deliver 100 amps continuously, 200 amps for a few minutes and a peak current of 500 amps (<10 seconds). The MLI Ultra 24/1250 can supply 50 A continuously, 100 A for a few minutes and a peak current of 250 A. Both MLI Ultra batteries are fast-charging and can handle high charging currents. If the charging source is powerful enough, only a few hours are needed to fully charge the battery. The recommended charging current is 0.5 C, equivalent to 50 A for the 12 V version or 25 A for the 24 V.
The housing dimensions are similar to those of comparable lead-acid, AGM or gel batteries, but the MLI Ultra weighs only half as much at 15 kg. To increase capacity or for use in 24, 36 or 48 V electrical systems, both parallel and series connections are possible (maximum 2 or 4 units in one battery bank, max. permissible system voltage 48 V, do not mix 12 or 24 V MLI Ultra). Parallel or series connections with lead-acid, AGM or gel batteries are not permitted!
The MLI Ultras are shock and vibration resistant. Solid and waterproof housing (IP65) allows them to be positioned upright (recommended) or lying on the longest side of the housing. With integrated battery on/off switch and status LEDs. Communication interfaces for system integration into MasterBus, Czone or N2k networks. An integrated high-tech BMS (Battery Management System) reliably controls and monitors all functions: It protects against deep discharge, overcurrent, cell overvoltage/undervoltage and overtemperature, and it includes highly efficient cell balancing that ensures optimised performance and a long runtime. The BMS also controls cell heating, allowing the battery to be charged at temperatures below freezing, an option not available with many other LiFePO4 batteries.
MASTERVOLT MLI Ultra can be charged with all powerful MASTERVOLT battery chargers (e.g. the ChargeMaster PLUS) or with chargers from other manufacturers if they are lithium-ion compatible and comply with the required charging parameters.
Included in delivery: 1x SAE car battery pole adapter set with M8 allen screws, 2x M8 screws, U and slotted washers each for direct cable lug/screw connections, 1x handle, 2x fastening strap, 1x MasterBus terminating resistor, 1x MasterBus cable (1m), 1x Czone drop cable (1m), 1x AUX cable (2m) for optional functions (switching contact / charge level monitoring), short instruction manual.

Note on temperature during charging
If a charger is connected and the battery temperature is below 0 °C, the internal heater switches on until 5 °C is reached or the charger is disconnected.
It takes about an hour for the battery to warm up from -20 °C to above 0 °C.
Charging at temperatures < 5 °C may result in the battery not being charged, and the charging current being used to heat the cells first.
Temperatures below 5 °C and above 25 °C can affect the service life and the number of charging cycles.

Notes
All MASTERVOLT lithium batteries are designed to stop charging by themselves!
The BMS sends a "Stop Charge" command, which switches off the connected MASTERVOLT charging technology (chargers, DC/DC charging converters or alternator high-power regulators) via a MasterBus connection. Each lithium battery and charging source must be configured via USB interface (optional accessory) and MasterAdjust software.
The "Stop Charge" command must be executed directly!
For charging technology not from MASTERVOLT (alternators, shore power chargers, solar regulators, wind generators, etc.), a powerful relay must be provided as an option, which is controlled via the AUX line (included in the delivery) and interrupts the connection between the charging source and the lithium battery. (Even when using third-party charging technology, configuration and "Stop Charge" function control should be carried out via USB interface and MasterAdjust software).
The MLI Ultra is supplied ready for use in a MasterBus network or as a stand-alone battery.
For CZone and for advanced functions, the settings must be adjusted. Most settings can be adjusted via DIP switches.
Advanced or network settings are configured via a Windows laptop or notebook, using either an optional USB interface and the free MasterAdjust software or the CZone configuration tool/programme. The MasterAdjust software is available free of charge at www.mastervolt.com under downloads.
The MLI Ultra records the following historical data: The number of charge cycles, when the last (100%) full charge occurred, the total capacity used and the lowest and highest battery voltage.
