Description
The YANMAR 2GM20 is a two-cylinder diesel engine from YANMAR’s GM series. It has a displacement of 0.635 litres and a dry weight of 114 kg. The maximum power output is 18 PS (13.4 kW) at 3,600 revolutions per minute, and 16 PS (11.8 kW) at 3,400 revolutions per minute during continuous operation. The combustion system utilises a proprietary swirl pre-chamber design. The YANMAR GM series also includes the single-cylinder 1GM10 and the three-cylinder 3GM30, which differ in the number of cylinders and power output but share the same design and injection technology. The 2GM20 is characterised by its compact design and simple, mechanical technology without any electronics. These features make the YANMAR 2GM20 a widely used main propulsion unit for small to medium-sized sailing boats.
