Product details

The NK-80 is the gateway between NMEA0183 electronic devices and an NMEA2000 device / network. It allows users to connect to an NMEA2000 network with their existing NMEA0183 devices. Cable lengths are 10 cm (NMEA2000) and 1 m (NMEA0183).

The NMEA0183 port of the AMEC NK-80 adapter is factory set to 38,400 Baud (AIS) as standard. The baud rate can be changed using the PC software supplied, but this requires an appropriate serial port on the PC.

Not compatible with Raymarine APs
Unfortunately, despite the recommendation of SVB, the adapter did not support the required PGNs that Raymarine expects. So NMEA 183 sequences such as Active Waypoint do not reach the AP and so this can not be controlled by waypoints. Too bad that you as a customer all this must find itself.

I have a server HX2 (nmea 183) with connected devices (wind, log, depth). Now I want to connect the server to GO7 XSE ( nmea 2000) . For connection, I want to use the AMEC NK-80 Network Adapter. As I'm not sure whether this is correct because AMEC NK-80 is being read "between NMEA 0183 electronic devices and NMEA 2000 device / network" I ask you to admire how to connect. thank you Kestutis

Dear Kestutis, it´s right to connect your system with the NK-80. But you need to install a hole NMEA200 network, too. Please notice our -85422- Your SVB-team.
