Precise measurement results at an affordable price The BMV-712 Smart provides precise information about the status of a battery bank. Because of its good measuring accuracy with very small currents, it is also well suited to detect leakage currents. Cables with better mechanical protection would be nice. The price-performance ratio is still great.

Victron BMS Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention, because the great battery control instrument lacks something with the connections either the battery temperature or a second voltage measurement of another battery. both would be sooo great!

Product details

This high-precision battery monitor displays all important on-board network data, such as voltage, current, power, state of charge, remaining battery life. In addition, the BMV-712 has a second monitoring input for measuring the voltage of a second, separate battery, the battery temperature or the midpoint voltage of a battery bank. Using Bluetooth together with the VictronConnect App (iOS/Android), you can change settings or display the data on your smartphone. Stores 16 historical data* such as lowest or highest voltage, deepest discharge, etc.. Other features include programmable alarm functions, an integrated audible alarm and a neutral alarm switch-over contact.

Note
The BMV-712 Smart can monitor 2 batteries: Complete monitoring of the "MAIN" battery and voltage monitoring of the "AUX" battery.

Precisely

...for retrofitting. I only want to equip the boat with what's necessary, and a battery monitor is part of that. Since all the information is best viewed in the app, I mounted the instrument near the battery. This saved me from having to run the cable all the way through the boat. Important: Before installing, take a photo or write down the back with the PIN for the app!
If necessary, you can have additional battery cables custom-made with cable lugs from SVB.
